Claw Vending Machine at Kansai Int'l Airport for Foreign Travelers Returning Home

posted 09/05/14

According to the Asahi Shimbun, a claw vending machine has reportedly been set up near the international departures gate at Kansai International Airport.

The game was set up because “A lot of people spend hours waiting for their departures, but there are only stores around, so many of them do not know what to do with their time... Travelers from abroad do not have any use for their Japanese coins when they return to their countries.”

You can win prizes like anime figures and Japanese-style accessories with the claw vending machine.

One play costs 100 yen. Since most such machines at video arcades cost between 200 and 500 yen per play, it’s somewhat cheaper in comparison. Why not try it out if you have a chance to visit Kansai International Airport on a trip to Japan?
