Giant Beetle Mecha

Some of you dear readers might know about the, mostly very young, japanese obsessing about the kabuto mushi (rhinocerous beetle) which are being collected, bred and used for insect battles that are being sold on DVD.

Now, as shown on the Japanese TV show "Nanikore Chin Hakkei", one obviously passionate fan from Ibaraki had fulfilled his dream after working on it for about 11 years: A giant kabuto mushi mecha, titled "Kabutom RX-03", ready to be mounted or remote controlled by one pilot and even carry around some passengers.

Admittedly, the speed is not that great, but the style of the 11 meter long and 15 ton weighing vehicly certainly is.

Now all the skilled man needs to happen is the japanese military taking on his work, making some futuristic mecha battles all that more possible.
