It has been learned that a man playing a video game on a train freaked out and broke a woman’s jaw when she admonished him. The man was arrested.

According to the Asahi Shimbun, when the suspect was playing a game on his mobile phone while riding a train on the JR Saikyo Line at around 8:00 a.m. on March 25, a woman standing in front of him said, “That’s so annoying.” The man then became enraged, screamed “Shut up!” and punched the woman, breaking her jaw.

 The trains on the JR Saikyo Line are packed to over 200% capacity during rush hour, with people pushed up against each other’s bodies creating enormous pressure. Opinions on the incident have been shared online, with some like

“If there had been some guy playing a game or something during rush hour, I would’ve sent him flying.”

  and

“The sound of repeatedly hitting the buttons in Monster Hunter PSP really is incredibly annoying.”

Others, however, have taken the opposite side, such as

“The woman that admonished him for something like that is wrong.”

and

“It’s a personal choice whether to play a game on the train or not. The woman is wrong.”
