Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo launched a site called Tokyo Fashion Map on March 6.

The site was launched as part of the Tokyo Fashion Map Project to take fashion trends in fifteen Tokyo locales with lots of people such as Akihabara and Shibuya, and introduce them to people in Japan and abroad through magazines and the Internet. Uniqlo teamed up with Tokyo Graffiti, a magazine that features photographs of fashions out on the streets, and actually found 1,000 people in the city to pose for photos.

The site has three main features. One is the Hoodie Relay Movie of people "putting on, wearing and taking off hoodies" in various locations in Tokyo and passing them between each other. The others are street photos and a map of Tokyo that makes use of Google Maps.

To display “the ‘Akiba style’ that has evolved along an original path in Akihabara, holy ground for ‘otaku,’ there is a girl sporting cat ears and knee socks, as well as nine guys dressed like nerds. You can see the area in front of Radio Kaikan, near the Electric Town Exit at JR Akihabara Station.
