A Boy Distresses over his Love for Pokemon

A boy who has fallen in love with Pokemon has received warm words of encouragement from all around.

The topic came up at a site called Rakuten: Minna de Kaiketsu! Q&A, where members can pen their thoughts in response to people’s doubts and worries and help them find solutions.

It all started at the end of February with the submission of one person’s worry at the site.

“I have fallen in love with Pokemon. Even now my heart anguishes when I think of Pokemon. But I think it’s pathetic to fall in love with an animated character, so I want to go back to just liking (being a fan of Pokemon.) What should I do?”

Many critical opinions have derided the boy’s worries as a “joke” or “fishing” (a lie or mischievous behavior), but there have been various warm words of encouragement as well, such as

“It’s nothing to worry about.”

“I think it’s up to me when I stop loving, so it’s okay to feel the way you do now.”

“I’ve also fallen in love with an anime character before.”
