It seems the times in which mechanized helpers will ease and improve our lives is just around the. corner. A new walking,talking, female faced, mood expressing robot has been released by developers at the Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.
The 158 centimeter tall and 58 kg weighing machine is said to debut at the Tokyo Fashion Week starting next monday. Apparently it has not passed the safety tests to walk along along the humans, though I doubt it could keep up in terms of walking speed, so it will appear alone in a special setting.
About one year will pass before the bipedal robot will be available for sale at about $200,000 and its programming technology made public. Until then robot fans can dream of teaching their mechanized mate to cook meals and make themselves useful in any way.
