Kannagi Manga Ceasing Publication ?

As discussed on many blogs and news sites in Japan and overseas the mangaka Eri Takenashi, responsible for the skyrocketing Kannagi manga has apparently fallen ill and is unable to continue her work on the series.

This fact alone has until now left a lot of room for speculation about the possible correlation with "fans" becoming enraged over the story development involving the mentioning of a possible ex-boyfriend of the main character and shrine godess Nagi. Some of them went as far as uploading pictures of their torn Kannagi manga collection to the infamous 2ch image board.

However, this correlation seems somewhat unlikely now as the fellow mangaka colleage Sayuki posted on her blog statements about Eri Takenashi's serious illness which apparently leaves her unable to move, leaving no chance even for a forced continuation of the story.

All we can do is wish for a thorough recovery and also some understanding and respect from some apparently crazed otaku.

Well, not much to do now but hope she gets well soon I guess.

Doesn't change the fact that those otakus are idiots of the highest calibre though.
