Xbox 360 Shooting Festa

There is no doubt anymore that the Xbox is the ultimate console for the truly hardcore genre that is shmup (shoot 'em up) games as proven by the Xbox 360 Shooting Festa held in Akihabara's Fuji Soft building.

For about two hours pre registered shooting fanatics could play old and new genre highlights like DoDonPachi Dai ou jou Black Label X, R-Type Dimensions or the Xbox port of Ketsui amongst others. The playable version of current side scrolling favourite Death Smiles came as a nice surprise.

Around the scene a few Hori Official Arcade Stick EX 2's could be spotted and one was even given to the winner of a score competition amongst an Xbox shooting game bundle.

After that a short talk event followed where Death Smiles' key developer Tsuneki Ikeda and characters illustrator Junya Inoue described not only their love for yandere girls but also the changes for the Xbox version of the game. For fans especially interesting was the announcement of the Death Smiles update Mega Black Label that will be available as downloadable content as well as a retail version.

After the talk long lines formed as attendants were given the chance to try out the Xbox port of Death Smiles which contains an arranged mode with HD resolution.
