Petition for Otaku Rights

posted 08/10/30

The holy land: Akiba. If legalized, would this be the spot chosen for the 2D weddings?

A group of Otaku have started a signature campaign with the goal to gain the legal right to wed the 2D character of their choice.

Their leader states: "At this point we have no interest in the 3 dimensional world. If possible we would like to become inhabitants of the 2D world. With current technology standards however, this won't be possible anytime soon. Having said that, at least we ask for the legal right to marry a 2D character. If comes though I would like to marry Asahina Mikuru."

As expected 2 channel users are already ridiculing the movement with all their might. Right now the otaku got 602 supporter's signatures with the stated goal of one million. It would be interesting to see the reaction of the House of Representatives as recently there have been at least 2 petitions put before the diet that requested the ban of sexy 2D characters altogether.
